The first vehicle, ready to start its frame.
Remote driving, Pi/camera perception, a powered load-bearing jaw and a removable bin. The plywood-and-timber frame uses catalog drivetrain parts and selected printed mounts. Active litter pickup and transfer are deferred.

The bin straps run horizontally below the rim. Lid lift leaves both straps secured; whole-bin removal releases them. Bin or battery service selects the closed jaw. Released hardware is hidden. Flexible retention and these service positions still need physical trials.
What is ready
$604.29Planning material, including $11 in unresolved fitting/price allowances.
8 print projectsPrepared for the existing P1S; physical print fit remains unverified.
0 field pickupsNo completed vehicle or powered field trial is recorded.
Integrated CAD, dimensioned workshop drawings, a four-page bench packet, wiring instructions and desktop control/perception checks are saved. Start with the unpowered deck and timber frame, following the assembly guide. Bought material is counted; freight, tax, tools and labor are separate from the estimate.
What remains
- Confirm the delivered battery's exact terminals and limits; fit the actual hinge and actuator clevis; obtain the service-pin quote.
- Commission the wiring, independent stop, control link and real Pi/camera installation.
- Measure loaded travel, jaw holding, bin/battery changeouts, hot-weather behavior and useful endurance.
Six useful hours per charge, a 10 kg / 30 L bin, a separate 0.5 kg jaw load and operation at a provisional 40°C ambient with sun remain targets.
Explore the current V1 physics
The V1 simulation lab uses current CAD with articulated wheels, casters and jaw, recorded Newton runs, interactive MuJoCo physics and two mapped real sites. Mass, traction and motor behavior remain uncalibrated; this does not qualify stopping, loads or endurance. The older Rapier demo remains historical.
